Casey Anna Stone is currently a mathematics graduate student at the University of Iowa after having graduated in May 2020 from SUNY Oswego with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. She is based out of Coralville, IA and Iowa City, IA and will be available on a limited basis for photography in Hackettstown, NJ while home for breaks in the winter and summer.
Ever since she purchased her very first Canon DSLR, she hasn't been able to put her camera down. Her first interest was photographing landscapes and wildlife, but once she moved to the SUNY Oswego campus as a freshman, she started photographing events for some of the school clubs, as well as ice hockey for SUNY Oswego's TV station, WTOP-10. From 2017 to 2019, she photographed dance recitals for SUNY Oswego's dance club, Del Sarte Dance. In June 2018, she successfully photographed her first wedding and now offers wedding photography services as a part of her event photography business. From February 2019 to March 2020, Casey worked with SUNY Oswego Athletics as a sports photographer. From August 2020 to October 2021, she worked for the University of Iowa’s student-run newspaper, The Daily Iowan, as a sports photographer. In September 2021, she became the team photographer for the University of Iowa Men's and Women's Club Ice Hockey Teams where she photographs the team's home games, and team portraits and headshots. Starting in October 2021, she photographs home ice hockey games for the Iowa Heartlanders East Coast Hockey League team. In addition to ice hockey, she photographs soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, baseball, softball, basketball, tennis, and any other sport she can. Additionally, Casey is a portrait photographer, taking graduation portraits, family photos, prom portraits, and more.
In addition to photographing events, portraits, and sports, she enjoys entering her work in photography contests. The first contest she entered was in 2017 at the Warren County Farmers' Fair where she placed first in the Jersey Shores category with her firework photograph taken on the beach at Seaside Heights. She entered her photos in the 2018 Warren County Farmers' Fair where she placed first in 3 categories, the Household Pets category with her photograph of her best friend's dog, Jazz; the NJ Parks category with her photograph of the waterfall at Schooley's Mountain Park; and the Flower category with her photograph of a macro yellow rose! She entered the Warren County Farmers' Fair photography contest again in 2019 placing first place in the category Favorite NJ Vacation Spot with her photo of the ferris wheel at Seaside Heights, NJ composed with the American Flag and a firework burst; she also placed first in the Special Themes category of Favorite Memory at the Warren County Farmers' Fair with her photo of the tethered hot air balloon ride, for which she received a trophy. In addition, two of her photos have won the top photo in the We Love Weather weekly Top 10 Photos competition. These photos were of a sunset on Lake Ontario from the SUNY Oswego campus and a rainbow taken in Guernsey State Park in Wyoming. Also, her photograph of the August 2017 Great American Eclipse was selected for the 55th Annual Juried Student Exhibition in Tyler Art Gallery on the SUNY Oswego campus. In addition to having her piece featured, she sold it soon after its display in the gallery. She has also entered the Osmocote Plant Food Spring Has Sprung Photo Contest in 2018 and 2019 where her photos of a macro rose (2018) and a bee on a gooseneck loosestrife (2019) were selected as finalists, winning her two $25 Amazon gift cards.
